Man (30s) dies in car crash in Co Offaly

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A MAN IN his 30s has died in a single vehicle car crash in Co Offaly.

The man, who was the driver and sole occupant of the car that crashed shortly after 11pm last night, was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. 

The incident took place in Co Offaly. Gardaí were alerted to a road crash on the L1005 at Bracknagh near Clonbologue. 

The local coroner has been notified of the man’s death, and his body has been removed to the mortuary at Tullamore Hospital where a post-mortem will be carried out. 

Garda forensic investigators will examine the crash site this morning, local diversions are in place. 

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward. 

A spokesperson said: “Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone with video footage (including dash cam) or recordings from along the route at the time of the collision to contact them.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Tullamore Garda Station at 057-9327600 or the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111.”
